Gerald's development

30 Jul-2010 - I have long did not update Gerald's development. Hope this is still not too late to update it..........haa

He is now 14 months and able to walk very steady and even run around the house now.

Language - say papa, dark-dark (when I off the light in the room).

Teeth - 4 central incisor (2 up, 2 bottom), 2 lateral incisor.

Motor Skills - able to pick up anything very well. climb up stairs case, sometime he even intend to climb up on the table. this is what his koko never did.

Food - his daily main dish is porridge (potato, beans, broccoli, carrot & fish, etc) for lunch + dinner, cereal + EBM for morning.

Fruits - kiwi, dragon fruits is his favorite. orange & Apply when mommy did not buy his favorite's fruit.

Drink by himself

It has been few weeks back ever since he started able to drink by himself when we gave him his milk or water bottle. after finishing, he will hand over the bottle to his caregiver. On top of this, he also able to walk 3 to 4 steps without holding hand. When we ask him where is the Fan he will look up the ceiling at the fan and if we ask Baby tire? He will pretend himself very tire and lying down on his chair or pillow. I think his understanding and motor skill is faster than compare to his koko. till now, Gerald only able to call "papa" the only person and ask "apa" whenever he saw something new to him.

9 months Old Gerald

Feb 2010 - This Picture taken during the Feb month where Gerald is about 9 months old at the time. I did not keep track of his development, i remembered clearly he already able to sit up by him self.

Gerald @ 6 months ++

It's been some time I did not track on his development. Anyway, Gerald started taking cereal 1 week prior to 6 months old, he love it so much. Daily he will taking cereal in the morning only. The rest of the day still on Mommy's milk.
He able to roll over and turn direction but not crawling yet. and he able to reverse when put him on the walker. He able to grab things very well especially his mommy' hair...ha..aa

19-Sept-2009 Saturday - Next week 24-Sept(Thursday), we are going to have a small Chinese ceremony for Gerald boy. In preparation of the big day, we have to bring Gerald for 1st time Hair cut. This time we decide to have him cut his hair shorter than earlier.

Early in the morning we suppose to bring him to barber, but it was heavy rain. So we wait till after lunch. While Vernon is having his Nap, we brought Gerald to Barber shop else Vernon also want to follow along. He did mention to me that he also want hair cut, but we just brought him there 2 weeks ago. His hair is still very short.................:)

Very lucky when we reach the barber shop, there's only 1 customer. so we wait for while, then is already Gerald's turn. I can say Gerald is very cool & steady baby boy. He never cry & just let the barber cut-his hair till complete. He really looks different after his hair cut, looks like the soldier now.

Gerald @ 2 month + 3 wks old

Very fast..............Gerald Boy is now 2 months + 3 wks old.
Gerald's weight during the 9th Aug Visit to Dr. Sim Clinic :
Weight : 6kg

I have about a week & will back to work on 24-Aug. I really wish I can with both my boys Gerald & Vernon at home longer. I have been bringing Vernon to School everyday since Jul which is about 2 months. I sure will miss all these mother & son happy time. same with my little Gerald boy whom I have with at home together since he was born (almost 3 month liao)
This week, i found Gerald boy a bit fussy. May be he can sense mommy is going back to work very soon. Start last week I tried to pump out my milk to let kakak to feed him in the morning & afternoon time. He sometimes hungry while still want to sleep and cry non stop so I told Kakak to put him down on the bouncing chair. and feed him. hope Nai Nai & kakak wati able to take care of him well next week when I am at work.
James & I start seeing jealous on Vernon. He will not let his De-de to sleep on his baby pillow, whenever he saw that he will pull away not matter his de-de is still sleeping or not.
and he will make noises purposely wake his de-de up especially you mention and asked him to keep voice low.

Gerald development @ 1 mth + 1 wks

9-Jul-2009 Thursday - Today we brought Gerald boy for 2nd month checkup & Jab "Hepatitis B" @ Dr. Sim's clinic. I like Dr. Sim clinic as he have a breastfeeding room for breastfeed mother. It is very convenient unlike GMC, where it only have one breastfeeding room, so every time I have to run to 5th floor nursing room to nurse Gerald when we were there for the 1st checkup.

Gerald's development :
* Able to lift head when you put him on your shoulder since 3rd weeks after born.
* Able to cooing to see if anyone will hold him.
* Able to move head from side to side and follow if we walk from one side to another
* Love to smile & "gugu" at people.
* Make a different sound of crying for diaper change/clean and off course for milk.
* Able to roll a bit side way and sometime he able to change the sleep position from vertical to horizontal. I really no idea how this boy able to do so in his baby cord.

Weight : 4.9kg (as per 9 of Jul)
OFC : 38.5cm

The day Baby Gerald born

29-May-2009 Friday - My Gerald boy born on the exact due date.
Most relatives said he look more like mommy, where i also have the same say......where have lots of hair and round face.

The nursery nurse in GMC hospital all name my baby Gerald number one in terms of high pitch when he is hungry and look for mommy's milk.
So sometime before the nurse come to call me for nursing in the middle of the night. I already can hear him from my room. and I always have to get prepared and walk faster to the nursing room. else his speaker will get louder and louder.
He nurse very well on the day he was born and can easily take from my breast or bottle.

On the 3rd day, his jaudice gone up to level 12, so I decided to stay with him in the hospital for another day before discharge. We went home on the 5th day, however the jaudice level did not get better though we did put him under the morning sun light.
On the 1st checkup, Dr. cheah asked for blood test to determine the jaudice level and it was level 14. which is too high for baby just 1 weeks old. As a result, Gerald have to admit, so I have to follow him as well since I still do not have breastmilk stock to feed him around the clock.
After 2 days, his level went down to 10.4, we finally discharge

Dry Pampers

Vernon already used to wee wee first b4 sleep and calling me for wee wee during the night for about 2 weeks ago. But Yet papa still worried that his little boy still forgot or lazy to woke up in the middle of the night for wee week. as a result, alternate day if I saw him had lots of water during the night time or rainy day I still put pampers on him.

How I did it at the 1st place on the night potty train : I actually use a techniques to train him......................

I told him the story of Pinocchio where he watched together with us some time ago.
He remembered if the Pinocchio tell a lie, his noise will become longer and longer. and I told him if he wee wee on the bed and did not tell us during the night. His Noise will also like Pinocchio, become longer and longer. On 2nd day, he remembered what I told him, and keep holding his nose to ensure his nose still look normal. from that day on.....every night b4 bedtime,he always remember telling us that he need wee wee b4 bed. and he want me to count ....1.2.3 then he will jump out from the bed to toilet.

This is what our conversation :

Vernon : No Wee wee on bed, else will like Pinocchio..............nose long long. then he will hold his nose and see whether his nose got become long long or not.

Mommy : I will then count 1..2..3.

Development@27 months old

14-Apr-2007 - Vernon is now 27th months old boy.
I can described my Vernon boy as a very active, creative and talkative & smart boy. He will never tired a minutes or second, jumping up & down, in & out every places he go unless he is sleeping.
Why I say he is a creative boy? Let me explain.
On one day out when we were in the car, he suddenly sang us a song by manipulate the lyrics from the "rain rain go away" to "papa go away". this is something really unexpected by us.
He is talkative boy, everyone in Jame's family love to say in malay : "anak merepek"
Vernon can talk to himself and talk non stop from the minutes we picked him up from MIL house till we got home. He can say anything he saw on the way home and follow what his papa said in the car. Therefore, I always told James that we have to be very careful during our conversation especially in front of this little boy. Vernon boy picked up every single words his papa say, he can listen to u quietly and then say the words after u.
Weight : 11kg (as per beginning of Apr visit to Dr. Sim)

height : 84cm (measure by our own at home, as Dr.Sim that he will measure when they reach 3 yrs old)

Teeth : all as above except the second molar yet come out.

Potty train - Fully capable of telling when want to wee wee & poo poo. Night time in progress of training to get ride of disposable diapers (hoping he able to make it in another 1 to 2 months time then we can totally save $$ on disposable diapers)

Lastly, I am very happy with Vernon boy's development and achievement so far is pretty independent and I think is per the schedule in most of the thing except eating.
he likes to keep his hand behind when come to dinner or lunch time. When he is sitting together with us on the dining table. He just waiting for us to feed him, now I need to think a way how to attract him to have more fun with his food. this is my challenge on the next goal....................

Development@23th months old

14-Dec-2007 - Today Vernon is reaching 23th months old now. Time fly pretty fast, one month from now he will be a little cutie 2 years old big boy.
He now need even more attention as he is more mobile than b4. We always make sure those danger things like knife, hot stuff keep out of his reach and put on child lock for those cabinets that he like to open now.
He is so active and not even a minutes he can stop for doing nothing. He now love to climb up on our living room coffee table and play his farm house together with the animals. Sometime he saw we left our keys on the table, he will grab the keys and go straight to the door. then wave bye bye to us, telling us.........want walk walk.

14-Sept-2007 friday - Today Vernon is reaching 20th months old.
Sometimes, I always remembered back to the day where I hold Vernon and breastfeed him in the hospital when he was born. The time we went through no matter sweet or sour.
He is now a 20th months old toddler..................time past so fast. They grow so fast and papa always say he is now able to reach the table. make sure u keep the dangerous thing out of Vernon's sight. we need more caution and always take care of Vernon's safety.
He is so active and not even a minutes he can stop for doing nothing.

2 Teeths & Saying more words

15-June-2007 friday - Today we found Vernon had his 2 first molar grew exactly at 17months old. for the past 2 week, we already monitoring on the tooth development. and wonder why Vernon keep bitting his bottle nipple.
At the same time, looking at Vernon's speech capabilities. He is now able to say averagely 40 vocabulory by 17 months old.
what are the new words he say? "ok", "Mommy instead of mama he used to call me now. He even can call Aunty & uncle. Nai nai, Chor chor, Mei Mei, baby, keys,butter-fly,close, open........."
I evenheard Nai nai saying that Vernon able to called the doggie's name at chor chor's house - "moh moh....moh moh"
His understanding is pretty strong, He can response to u whenever u calling his name :
Me : Vernon
Vernon : Hmmmh

Even with what Vernon know so far, papa still not satisfy. As he saw a little girl at 2 year old whom also hopitalized at the same time as vernon. She able to say in Malay "satu, dua, tiga till sepuluh." Then I told papa, don't u think your Vernon is pretty clever already, he is capable of saying the words instead of a single Alphabet. U cannot make comparison, each toddler have their own ability stage by stage.

Vernon Development at 15month

Teeth - additional 2 bottom central incisor teeth. add up he had a total of 8 teeths & an dracula teeth now.
language - more words he is saying : ball, cars, no-no, shoes, ta-ta (when doing things that not suppose to do).
Motor - walk faster & independently. holding mommy & pap hands only when go shopping.

Vernon is Walking by his own

Vernon finally can walk on 14 months & 2 weeks old. He first only walk when he is not aware situation. for the last few weeks he don't like me & james to hold his hand either while he is walking. he want to hold on & walk with support wihout our interference.
