Pay a visit to Dr. Gan's clinic together with Mommy

25-Apr-2009 Saturday - James & I decided to bring along Vernon when I went for my checkup this week. As lately when I told Vernon that De-de will sleep in his baby cot while he will sleep with mommy on the bed. His 1st reaction to me is :

Vernon : No.....mommy, de-de cannot sleep in the baby cot nor bed.....De-de sleep on the floor.

Mommy : Alamak, I almost want to "pengsan". and every time I asked the same Q, he will replied me the same answer. In order to let him slowly accept his de-de on the way. we finally make the decision to bring along him when I went for next checkup to see any changes (as recommend by most of friends).
Ah......It really works!!

On the Saturday morning, I told him that let's have your breakfast then we go to Dr. Gan's clinic. Vernon was so happy and keep telling us that Dr.Gan will use the computer and show him De-de that swimming in mommy's tummy.
He was so good boy sitting/waiting outside Dr.Gan's clinic. Suddenly we meet one of James's friend walking passby and we say "hello" to him. Vernon saw him holding a bag and keep asking "Uncle, What is inside the bag?" then we told him......we not suppose to askwhat is inside ppl's bag. Then the friend replied him, will tell you later Okay...............
The friend told us........what a smart boy........lots of Q ah...
when the Nurse called my name, I brought along Vernon & went into the consultation room, then he was so talkative to the nurse while the nurse is checking on my blood pressure.
He told the nurse that Dr Gan is going to show him De-de inside mommy's tummy. then the nurse askes him what is his name & how old are you.
Vernon : My name is Vernon and I am 3 years old.
The nurse was so impressed that he can talk so well.
After a while, Dr Gan came in........Vernon look at her and call her "Auntie"
I think he didn't expect the Dr.Gan is a lady. and talk so soft.
after that Dr.Gan Showed him the Ultrasound : De-de face, nose, ears.......and de-de is kicking.
Vernon was so happy that he finally can see de-de. and kept telling ppl how de-de looks like, when he went back to Ah mah's house.

Time for Nursery

Feb 2009 - For the past 3 weeks we went for a few shortlisted nursery to understand the environment and the syllabus that they teach for 3 years old.

I pretty like all of the 3 nurseries that we visited :
Gentle Care
Learning Garden
Little light house

However we have to consider a few things before we send Vernon :
* Distance
* convenience
* fees
* what they cover in their syllabus/during the playschool
* how big is the class

Why we went to gentle care, as this place was highly recommended by a good friend of nai nai and we pretty love the environment & how they teach the kids. In fact we also see the example/result of the kids that with them since 2 years old. The kids were very obediant and follow the teacher instructions and very self independent especially after the bath, lunch and pick up their shoes and wore their shoes.
but when we consider the distance from Nai Nai house to there, we kind of drop this out since it will be very trouble/tire for Nai nai to drop/pick up Vernon from playschool within 3 hours.
for the learning garden, off course we also love the place/environment some more the place is just a block from Ah Mah house. especially the classroom where it has a storytelling corner, math corner. very convenient place for Nai Nai & Ah mah to pick him.
but the fees is way too high just for playschool, which we seem no make sense since we only want to have a playschool for Vernon to go & mix with friends and do some art & craft thing.
as we saw most of the playschool is teaching the alphabet "A-Z" and 1-20" which Vernon already well known.
as a result, we decided to visit the Little light house in Green Lane where close to Nai Nai house and is also the koko che che playschool.
We met the headmaster for almost 2 hours and we walked around the nursery and looking at all the result of the kids arts/craft.
we pretty like it and we will discuss with Nai Nai b4 make the final decision.
as the fees is reasonable and syllabus is making sense though it only concentrate on English till 5 years old.
we decided to send him earlier to playschool right b4 his De-de arrival by June. so that he don't felt that becoz of the arrival of De-de we send him to playshcool.

Kek Lok Shi

7-Feb-2009 Saturday - This is the famous place for visitors & local to visit during Chinese New Year as every year it will light up with lots of Lanterns. This year the "Kuan Yin"'s roof is building up and everyone is excited seeing it to be complete.
No exceptions for us to bring our little boy there to make his wish.
when we arrive, there still lots of car park and we go around the place.
We went there early evening in order to avoid the congested traffic up the hill.
upon arrive, he saw the statue of Kuan Yin and ask

Vernon : What is this?

Mommy : This is Kuan Yin.

After a while, I can't walk any longer so I sat down and there's a mother holding her baby on her arms. I told Vernon to see...............baby
You know what is Vernon's Reaction :
Vernon immediate walk to the front of the baby & mother and said :
Vernon : I am Big koko. The family sat next to us & the mother laugh at him.
However, Vernon can 't wait to go up to see the "Kuan Yin". He kept asking :
Vernon : Are we going to see the statue??
Mommy : okay, we are going up there, wait papa took some photos first.

When we go up to see the "kuan Yin" where the statue located. There's a counter where they still gather people donations for building/complete the roof for the "kuan Yin"
we decided to buy the "wishing Coin" for Vernon to put into each of the wishing bowl around the Kuan YIn. Vernon was not tall enough to reach the bowl, so Papa have to hold on him while I hold on the wishing coin for him to drop into each of the wishing bowl around the "kuan Yin"
after that Papa decided to donate RM5o to buy a piece of Roof tile as a donation for the Good luck for the family.
On our way down the hill, the traffic was very worse. It is bumper to bumper up the hill, but yet the cars still come toward the hill and some people even park their car besides the road.

X'mas Vacation @ Singapore Day 2

27-Dec-2008 Saturday - This is the 2nd day of our S'pore trip where we plan to go to Sentosa Island since we need to spend the whole day there.

This is our hotel room, where Vernon is looking at the notepad.

We have bought our cable car ticket and is on our walking path to the cable care station.

Yeah! We are riding on the cable car on our way to the sentosa island.

This is the 1st ride we taken upon arrived at the sentosa island.

The tower is going upwards and downwards. The funny thing is Vernon want to wee-wee on the way down and he can't wait till the tower go down. luckily I did bring his wee-wee cup along. and we let him wee-wee in the cup first.

We were in the museum, Vernon was so happy make his call by using the old types telephone.

Then we look around, this is the only thing that Vernon allow to play. and I was not allow, due to there's a rule which prohibit pregnant lady & expecting mom + kids below certain height.

So I only can took photos for them. and James have to bring him to play.

On our way to find restaurant for lunch, Vernon saw a lots of kids playing with the water fountain. So he also want to play. And I have to hold him...........but with very careful.

as I am not suppose to carry him.

Hmmh.....finally we saw a restaurant which serve variety of international food.

see...........the yummy food James ordered. For Vernon, I have to share the S'pore Chicken rice.

he is a bit fussy when we wake him up for lunch. But after a while he is ok since we ordered him a cup of cold drink.

We waited till evening finish the laser light show. when we were there, already have lots of ppl queuing up. It was so warm and humid especially when the place crowded with ppl.

After a tire day at sentosa, we headed back to hotel. Take a hot bath and only go to get our dinner again. We found a place for chicken rice again.............as Vernon keep saying he want to eat rice.
We went for a double Decker bus for a free ride at the orchid road (looking at the X'mas night lights). It was so fascinating......................and can say the whole road was full with colorful lights.

and they have a team every year.

Oh..........................................what a tire day and it's time for us to ride on the MRT back to our hotel.

X'mas Vacation @ Singapore Day 1

26-Dec-2008 Friday - We've 2 weeks long X'mas Holidays, so I & papa decided to bring Vernon to S'pore for vacations. We plan to fly with AirAsia this time as it always having promotion with low fare. We book our AirAsia ticket about a month ahead & never thought that MAS have another promotion where the price was so attractive and if we fly with Mas. We do not need to transit KL which is much more convenient especially travel with small kid.
We have no choice since AirAsia ticket is not cancellable
We woke up very early in the morning waiting for NaiNai to fetch us to Airport in order not to miss the flight.
Vernon very happy upon walking into the departure Gate, he kept asking me & James where is the Aeroplane?
The airport was so crowded with people going for their X'mas holidays.
We have to walk to the airplane unlike the normal MAS/SIN Airline. Therefore, Papa have to go up to the plane with Vernon in order to reserve a better seat for all of us. As a pregnant mommy, i can't walk fast enough and also try to avoid those people whom love to push in order to get a better place.
Once Vernon sat on his seat, the 1st thing is asked me :

Vernon : Mommy help me to buckle, for safety else Vernon will "pon-pon"
Mommy : okay, mommy help you to buckle up the safety belt.

Then Vernon pull the emergency guide from the front seat pocket and kept asking James.
So Papa have to explain every single details to him. He love & very curious for every single things he saw.
The fun moments is Vernon start count down from "10..9..8..7..6..5..4..3..2..1" when we told him the airplane is going to take off.

When we arrived at the S'pore airport is like almost 2pm in the afternoon. We knew the little boy must be very hungry as we only took a light Mc'D breakfast during KL transit.

as it already past about 2 hours from his usual lunch time. He kept asking :

Vernon : I want Rice.....I want Rice...............hungry mommy

mommy : Wait.......mommy knew you are very hungry.

We wait for papa to ask the info center on the LRT & S'pore Map, as he need to familiar how we proceed from airport to our hotel by LRT.

finally we seated in Sakae Sushi restaurant in S'pore Airport terminal 2.

Vernon saw the varieties of sushi running on the conveyor belt next to him. He quickly grab 1 plate of sushi with house shape while waiting for our order to be serve. he enjoyed and finished 2 of them pretty fast and then he ask me to take one of those and leave another 1 for papa.

When we almost finish our lunch, Vernon boy saw the waiter is blowing balloon for decorations.

he then ask the waiter to gave him 1 balloon. then I told him where is your Magic words to koko that who gave you the balloon.

Vernon : Thank You koko.

Garfield & Friends @ Island Plaza (backdated post-Dec 21)

21-Dec-2008 Sunday - We saw the flyer send to Ah Mah house about Let's meet "Garfield & friends" @ Island Plaza. We knew that Vernon boy sure love it as he had a Garfield toys with him.

We reached Island Plaza 1/2 hours earlier though the show only start at 2pm, in order not to miss the photo session with Garfield & friends. Just in time we reach the lobby of Island plaza, the speaker is introducing the characters that coming out soon. and they request all the kids & parents to Q-up to the stage. The lucky things is there's not much people knowing about this promotion.

We also met Joshua ko-ko, Jolene che che & mommy there, they just finish their shopping and drop by to have a photos together with Garfield & friends as well.

Jojo Mommy (my sister) told me that if buy RM120 from any shops at Island plaza on that day, will get a Garfield pillow.

After the show mommy went to Metro to see anything can buy for Nai Nai as upcoming X'mas present since there's a good free gift promotion. there mommy found a nice Nyonya brooch that very suitable for Nai Nai "baju kebaya." and mommy also buy a pair of Tiffany earring for myself.

and bought 2 pairs of Hush puppies shocks for papa X'mas present.

At Last, Papa said today is for mommy last minutes X'mas shopping day........................haa....aa

Evening Outing

One Evening we went for an evening walk along the IJM new project near the Sungai pinang.
Many people love to have a rest and playing kite there. while along the roadside there're a pasar evening selling foods and clothing's. One thing I don't like is those motorcyclist was riding their motorbike on the walking pavements which real dangerous to the children.

22-Jul-2008 - MIL bought 3 tickets to "The American Boy Chorus", she knew Vernon will love it. On that night we left work on time and go to pick up Nai Nai & Vernon. We reached Dewan Sri pinang just in time and we had hard time to find a right place as most of the seats left are 2 or seat.

Very lucky, MIL met her friend whom had VIP seats reserved for them. As a result, we able to sit at the VIP place in the 3 front rows. How nice.......................

Vernon enjoy the song very much, he even clapping hands after every song performed till almost 1 1/2 hours. He suddenly saw the Auntie sitting beside me have black mod on his forehead. and this is what he said :

Vernon : Mommy, what is that black black & big big one???

Mommy : I asked, keep quite and ssshhhhh......try to a void answering him.

After that he keep talking to me very loud. I & James do not know how to keep him quite, luckily i did bring some animal shape biscuits which he love. and he munch it till almost the end of the concert.

I believe it's too long for a kids to continue sitting & watching the concert.

A day trip to Penang Bird Park

13-Jul-2008 Sunday - It was a long weekend holidays, and Vernon just started learning and recognize the name of all the birds. I told James why not we bring Vernon to Penang Bird park at seberang prai since we had long weekend. We then took this opportunity to help Vernon to be more familiar with all the bird species that he had learnt.

When we reached the bird park entrance in the afternoon, the thing surprise me is the entrance ticket price. I didn't know that the price gone up to Rm15 per person (adult) since the last time i went there a few years back. really inflation....haa...aa

We went into the bird park though it have lots of birds but the environment is not per what I expected per the price paid. however this is really worth to pay a visit together with our kids.

They can learn and see the real birds (toucan, eagle,ostrich, stork owl....etc) that they see in the books.

Well, Vernon love it after seeing the birds that he learnt & come across in his book now he can see in real and he able to name most of the birds.

Till today, He still remember the color of the parrot that make the loud noise when we go near the cage.

He always mention the green color parrot make the loud noise one loh.

and saying the owl is the one that sleeping.

Mommy : Owl is sleeping......

He name the bird on the right photo as Monster bird as he saw the hand of the bird very long and this is rare species.

After an hour visit to the park, this little Vernon tire and told us very hot and want us to hold him. Just on our way walk towards the exit entrance, Vernon saw an Arab lady with her face covered with a black cloth and wearing black suites. He said............

Vernon : Mommy see......

and he said Eeee.eee...............Monster. See 2 eyes only.

At that time I was holding him and luckily the Arab lady already walk by us and a distance away from us.

else I will felt embarrassed loh.

Kids always talk from their heart, and never say a lie.

Special visit of 3-ku kong to our Apartment

14-June-2008 - Saturday afternoon 3 ku-kong + his girlfriend together with nai nai, e-po & chor chor finally make a visit to our apartment b4 they left for London on Sunday morning.

Early morning of that day, i woke up extra early around 7am and went to Jelutong market as I plan to buy some of the nyonya kuihs, kelabu bee hun, local fruits (nanka, campedak......) and fresh soya drinks to host them.
they suppose to be here about 10am, due to nai nai can't make it. The plan delay till around noon where about lunch time - 12 pm they only arrived our place.
Soon they arrived and I am happy they yet taken any lunch. They very enjoyed the food that i had prepared for them. especially the local fruits - Nanka & the fried campedak & kelabu bee hun.
after some light lunch, they looked at Vernon's photos & also our wedding photos.
around 2pm, they wanted to headed home as chor chor need a nap as tonight we had a dinner with them.

Going out with 3-ku kong

13-June-2008 Friday - 3 ku-kong & his English girlfriend were all the way back from London to attend chor-chor's 88 birthday and they stayed in penang for another week b4 headed home again. This is the last weekend they stay in penang, so Papa want to treat them something they delighted and have long been missed. As a result, we chose the Northam Cafe where they can tried a varieties of hawkers penang specialty food.

They really enjoyed the foods till u can see the whole table were foods. and also the sea breeze since the cafe is just next to the beach.

Wesak Day

19-May-2008 Monday - This morning Vernon woke up early and we decided to bring him along to go pai pai at a temple which located next to Hang Chian High school (Buddha). James, me & sister in law together with Vernon boy went there. It's so hard to have a parking space, we just park outside of a vacant house and walk to the temple. This year not so crowded compared to the previous year. I believe long weekend and many people already went for pai pai early early to prevent traffic jam. After bought some flowers, we straight go into the main hall. I can't believed my Vernon boy can pray in front of the buddha and if u observed how he sit. It's amazing that he sit there with this posistion for about 10 min without moving and just pray and look up & down fromt the roof to the side wall. James take this opportunity to took his pic.

After praying we headed to Vernon's grdfather temper for pray and then only go home for rest.

Visting Penang Aquariam

1-May-2008 - Thursday. It's a labor day after we had lunch celebration for mother's day together with nainai & Chor chor we proceed to penang aquarium at Burma road.

it was a sunny & warm day and papa could not get a car park in front so we have to park our car behind the restaurant nearby and walk to the aquarium.

This aquarium is a 3 stories building selling animals - fishes, dogs, cats, birds & reptiles. Vernon love the hamster which he called them 老鼠 老鼠. but he pretty scared of spiders in the display glass. he kept telling us................no...no Vernon 害怕.

many peoples went there just to buy fishes and some of them busy choosing the fish that they want. while some is sending their dog/cat for hair cut & etc.

we walked by the corner and saw there's a pic corner for visitor to take some photos.

there's big crown fish which really cute.

Sun Yet Sen Museum 孫中山

We went for dinner at the downtown a weekend prior to the moon cake festival. So coincidence that we passby the macalister road, seeing many people inside a mansion next to a primary shcool.
After the dinner at the nearby hawkers center, we walked down the street to take a look at the mansion. By then we found that actually it's a
SUN YET SEN MUSUEM. I believe it did some publications in the newspaper. We didn't notice that..... Papa love historical things and very interested to see all these. He decided to go inside the mansion and take a look since it's an opening day somemore. We walk around the house, looking at the display history of Sun Yet Sen. It tells about what he did during that time when he is in Penang island too. For me, it's just a historical famous man unlike papa. He read the history of this man, so for him.... This is something/place that we should not be miss to visit.

Chor chor house

Today is a Raya replacment holidays, we are off from work........yeah...yippy.

Papa & Mommy decided to go for DIM SUM for breakfast. Since Papa need to go to chor chor house to fix the telephone line for chor chor.

After the Dim sum @ "點 心 zei 家" we ta pau 2 big "pau" for chor chor.

When we reached chor chor house, she is just finished her daily exercise @ the balcony. We thought this is so great and nice place to have some pictures taken for Vernon boy as a memory.

Pay a visit to Joshua

8-June-2007 Friday - Today MIL prepare dinner for us b4 she went out to attend a wedding dinner. We then had our dinner till 8pm, after that I drove Vernon to Ah mah house since papa say he need to work at home to night to catch up his work.

Vernon first reach ah mah house & start look not familiar on his face again. he's been 2 weeks not going back to ah mah house. He is like the Koala Bear keep clueing on me, wherever I go, he follow behind me. So I brought him to ah mah'room while I chatting with ah mah & ah kong. after a while I went to take his water bottle for him and he played with Joshua & jolene at ah mah & kongkong' room happily. out of sudden, he found that I walked out from the room & turn his head to look for me. Not seeing me around, he then cry like people beating him loh.
poor this little boy............so manja lately.
Ah mah immediate ask me to brought him home, becoz she thought that Vernon may be too tired already. I insisted not to, I want him to get use to different environment instead of keep dependent on me.
I hope he will soon be more independent when time pastby & grew older.

Pesta Bunga at Penang

30-May-2007 Tuesday - Today Papa call me at the office in the afternoon & told me not to cook dinner tonight. He planned to bring us to Pesta bunga held at the botanical garden. We reached the botanical road about 7:30pm and the Pesta Bunga will be end at 8pm according to the banner along the road. Papa almost want to give up to go there as he said he only have half an hour to see the "bunga". Furthermore, there're lots of cars coming out from that road. looks like there's a traffic jam on the junction. I insisted we take a look at the real situation at the botanical since we already there. When we were in front of the botanical garden, we only seen the booth selling flowers. unlike last year where there're flowers & lighting decorations. pretty dissapointed us, we plan all the way there as want to give Vernon a surprise.
We still go to see the flowers booth by booth. The most attracted me are those 富貴 flowers - u only see the flowers, no leaves at all. When we got close to the flowers on display & took the photos of Vernon together with the flowers, we were so afraid that this little vernon will plug the flowers. Papa say if vernon plug the flowers, he will walk away & pretend don't know us.............ah yah bad papa. let the mommy pay for the flowers.

soon after we walkby all the booth, we were about to walked back to the car. we saw a cat nearby, Vernon just say :MEOW....MEOW...................with her soft voice.
