Jab - "Influenza"

5-Apr-2008 Saturday - This is the 3rd visits to Dr. Sim after Dr. Sim moved to SRIGIM hospital since Jan 08. Today Vernon will had his "Influenza" jab which is to prevent from the flu and it's newly introduce as I see was not in the original jabs plan.
as usual, I dropped Vernon medical card to get a number on my way to buy fruits at the lorong kulit. When I reached home, Vernon boy still watching TV but can see he is very tired and sleepy, he woke up too early this morning. About 10:30am, he went to had his morning nap.
we waited till he woke up about 12pm then only get ready to go to Dr.Sim clinic.
we reached there within 10 min time since the distance is shorter compare to GMC.
There were 3 kids still waiting for their turn together with their parents. Very soon, the nurse called up Vernon to had his weight.
I am very relief after hearing that Vernon finally gain a little bit weight.

**Weight on 5-Apr - 11kg.
After complete measure his weight, Vernon walked out from the room sit on the kids chair in the center of the lobby outside the Dr. Sim's clinic. later, there's a little girl walk in together with her kakak. I don't see the little girl mom and not too sure why some parents can let their maid to fully handle their kids.
alright..................the little girl just right in the opposite of Vernon and push the table towards Vernon. Immediately Vernon turn his head and complaint to me......

Vernon : Mommy.................push table.
Mommy : Never mind, u told her "please, do not push the table"
This Vernon boy was so humble, he dare not say any words to the girl and just keep complaining. Then the girl walk away.......later on I just knew that Vernon and the little girl are at the same age. From here, we need to train Vernon boy to be brave to say out when he got bully by others.
a few minutes later, Vernon was called into Dr. Sim clinic. He no longer smile this time, i think when they grew up and they understand more. They can expecting what will happened to them. He can now say Dr.Sim "cucuk, cucuk" leg.
Dr. Sim have to use the sticker book to temporary cool down him and stopped him from crying b4 gave him the jab. After the jab, Dr. Sim asked about whether did we gave Vernon any deworm medicine and our reply is not yet.
So Dr. Sim prescribed a deworm medicine for Vernon- Vermox (chocolate flavour)
On our way to have our lunch together with Nai nai, e-po & Chor chor at PSC. Vernon keep complaint to us :

Vernon : Dr. Sim no good, inject vernon 痛 痛.

He repeated twice and even told all of the family members about it.

In the evening, we gave him the Deworm medicine. Vernon love it so much and very lucky we don't see any worm the next day or even the following day when he had his big business.

Hepertitis A Jab

26-Jan-2008 - Saturday noon. This is the 1st time visited Dr.Sim after he moved to Sirgim women & children hospital. We left home about 11:40am as Vernon slept till 11:20am only woke up. Kakak wati prepared Vernon boy's lunch so that she can feed him while waiting. as we knew that it will be crowded just like what we used to do.
We walked into the hospital and go to registration desk to register. The front desk nurse was very helpful and friendly though, she is malay but speak chinese very well. We can easily see Dr. Sim clinic from the front desk.
One new thing is there's a queuing number display outside with a big LCD screen that specially setup for Dr.Sim. This is good for his patient waiting outside, at leadt can estimate how long to be their turn and no more knocking door asking when will be our turn. Then I brougth Vernon to the waiting area. many kids playing and running all the place, so like last time in GMC.
We waited for an hour, Vernon's name was calling by the nurse. We walked into Dr. Sim Clinic, as usual Dr.sim always say the same old words : "This boy always make his day."
One good things are both of his Nurse also follow him. so we use to then and they also known us very well.
as Vernon love to smile at Dr.Sim. Dr. Sim keep all his patient record, so he easily refer back what jab require now.
Today is his Hepatitis Jab..........................this time no lie down required. As it will pock into their Arm instead. this time Vernon cry for a while and then stop.....................
After that Dr.sim gave Vernon a CNY card for greetings and he say it's too early to give angpow. and he did mention about the Srigim is going to have a big renovation and change of management as well. The hospital name will change later as well.
Honestly, I like the service of this hospital compare to GMC. The nurses are so friendly especially the front desk.

5 in 1 Jab

30-Sept-2007 Sunday - This is 1st time we brought Vernon went for sunday Jab at GMC. We headed GMC about 10:30am as Vernon slept till 10:15am only he woke up. Around 11am we can see a big group of parents + babies & toddlers waiting outside Dr.sim's clinic.
U can see everyparents were waiting un-patiently with many of the toddlers & kids there are sick and it made me worry that the air might transmit the virus. So we decided to bring Vernon to the other side of the clinic (near the casher counter) in order to isolate from those sick kids while waiting. @1pm finally is Vernon's turn, we went into the clinic...............
the 1st thing Vernon did is call Dr.Sim....."UNCLE"....."UNCLE"
Dr. Sim was so happy seeing Vernon, he always say Vernon make his day as Vernon boy love to smile@ him.
Dr. Sim asked : is Vernon love to brush teeth?
Mommy: Yes, off course........He love it so much till he do not want to return/let go the toothbrush to mommy.
Dr.Sim : Wow, I am a lucky mom as I got a son who love to brush teeth. I should be proud of him. This will ensure that Vernon boy will have a strong & nice teeths.
After that Dr.Sim gave a strawbeery toothpaste for Vernon as a reward.
Today Vernon is going to take his 5 in 1 jab.
Dr.Sim checked on Vernon's ear, eye & so on are all okey..................
but one bad news we take home from Dr. Sim is : He is leaving GMC soon.
He might startup his own clinic privatly or joint other hospital soon.

**too many politics@workplace, I think most of us also encounter this problem. Is how we look at it. However if the situation is too serious and make a person hard to take it anymore.
I believe the choice of leaving the place is good for both party.

JE Jab

1-Aug-2007 - Wednesday MIL will bring Vernon togerther with Ashley(cousin sister) to have the JE Jab at GMC 2:30pm today.
This is a special arrangement with Dr Sim, as toddlers under 2 years old only need 1/2 of the dosage of the JE medicine. In order not to waste & pay for another 1/2 of the medicine, we request Dr. Sim to have this arrangement for us. Some of people might find that very troublesome to share as we can't predict both kids will be ok by the time of the JE Jab schedule. For me, though JE jab was first postponed due to Ashley's down with fever, then follow by Vernon. i found that it's still worth, time is not a problem & can save some $$ mah......haa.a
My sister help me to drop Vernon & Ashley's appointment card at GMC prior to the appointment time.
Around 3:30pm they reached GMC & waiting outside the clinic. After 2 patients, the nurse called up both kids. They happily went into Dr. Sim Clinic, Vernon was still happy letting Dr. Sim to checked and weight him. However, Ashley start crying when Dr. Sim check on her & weight her. Oh...no come back to Vernon's turn to have the JE jab, the nurse put him lying down on the bed. He realized that sometime not right...........his radio start >>>>>
Finally they done the Jab pretty fast and went home happily.
That night when I ask where is Dr Sim gave u the jab, he will pull up his pants and show u where the plaster is. Do u believed, yesterday (5-Aug) when my elder sister asked Vernon where u had your jab, still remember loh and show his E-E where is it.

Follow up visit to Dr. Sim

14-June-2007 Thurseday - Today I carpool with James as we need to rush to pick up Vernon from MIL place after work. I left my meeting at 5pm & waited James to pick me, then rush Vernon to GMC for his follow up check up. The Nurse told us not to be late, if cannot make it by 6pm we need to ring her. at 5:45pm I hand vernon appointment card to the receptions as usual and straight go to 2nd floor. There'were already 4 patients waiting outside Dr.sim clinic, I 'm sure these are all Dr. Sim patient since the rest of the PD's clinic already close shop by then.
Wait not very long, the nurse call Vernon's name, we go inside to the clinic.
Dr.Sim say How is everything?I reply Seems okey.
Dr.Sim : Let me check on Vernon's lung? hm.....everything is now ok but I need your to conitnue giving him the inflamine (using the inhaller) at home.
Following, Dr.sim weight Vernon and say Vernon now is 10kg. good progress...........then I ask why Vernon poo poo a lot. He say if the poo poo is not hard, then it is normal. and this is good.
although Vernon look skinny, as long as he is healthy boy.
After that I request Dr. Sim to look at his height, he actually not support to look at Vernon's hieght as he say the height will not be right at this age. Since I requested his help to measure and told me that they will grow even faster when they reach 5 years old & above.

Weight at 17month - 10kg ; Height at 17 months - 74cm

We left GMC & straight go to Northam Cafe to have our dinner since this is the most nearest place & papa love the food & view there. Right after we park our car, the rain fell. we cannot sit by the seaside, everyone is moving to the shelter area

Dr. sim said ----today he will be the bad person again. becoz of today there's a jab need to be taken - "MMR". when we want to put him on the weight meter, first time i saw vernon cry. like knowing very soon, he will have a jab. afterthat with no choice we still have to put him lie down on the bed, try to pull all the toys arround for him. he still push away. very soon, he stop crying after the jab. and Dr.sim gave him a compliment gift - a small tin of formula milk. By the way, we asked whether is it ok to change the formula from current to "essential" formula for 1yrs & above. but Dr.Sim advice is to continue till vernon is 18months old.
