Let's Learn Together

We bought this sesame street "Let's Learn Together" at Kinokuniya Book store in KL CC during our trip to KL sometime ago.
This book comes with a remote control for kids to play while learning. The key learning things in this book is teaching kids on "colors, Shapes & math". It also comes with some song & video of actual life animals to introduce to the kids. I found it very worth, especially Vernon is the Elmo's fan, furthermore he also interested with the features inside.

Fatty Loh Chicken Rice

It's been some time we never go for fatty loh chicken rice.
The place was changing a lot, now it was facilitate with full air con for people to dine in.
But I still felt the place is too crowded & narrow. As people are keep coming in during lunch time and they force to open & squeeze in more table into the place instead of keep their customer waiting for the rest to finish.
The chicken rice still is the best and the price is reasonable.

On our way to pick up our car, we saw the big chicken outside the shop and we took a photo for Vernon since he is born in year of Rooster.

Dish Washing set

21-Nov-2008 - We saw the dish set during our grocery trip at Tesco. We knew Vernon will love it since he used to ask for spoon & plates from me and pretend he is washing for me.
It also come with 2 types of fruits (banana & watermelon) together with the copping board where they can cut it into 2 sides. This is what Vernon did when we opened up the set for him.

Hopefully he can be my future kitchen helper.

Dr. Who

21-Nov-2008 Friday - Vernon is capable to tell who see which Doctor especially James, I & himself.

We love to ask him :
Mommy : Papa see which Doctor?
Vernon : Papa see Dr. Wong

Mommy : Mommy see which Doctor?
Vernon : Mommy see Dr. Gan

Mommy : Vernon see which Doctor?
Vernon : Vernon see Dr. Sim.

Evertime when I went for checkup, He will told his nai nai.....mommy go to see Dr. Gan.

Dinner together with Ah Kong & Ah Mah

15-Nov-2008 Saturday - We had a good family time together at EQ hotel Coffee Garden though there's not much choices food on that day. Vernon was so happy when he saw the waitress deliver his dinner set (spoon, cup & bowl). He excited playing the water by scooping from the cup to the bowl. Ah Mah keep asking Vernon to take some food, instead of playing. But he still ignore what we said to him.

After we finished our dinner, we walked to the fish pond outside the coffee garden. Ah mah tried to tease the fishes in the fish pond. The fishes really looks hungry and attracted to you whenever they saw people walk near them. We asked Vernon, want to put your hand inside........his reaction is.....'NO" "NO"

Ah Kong is the babysitter for the night, go after Vernon when he run up & down the place. We pretty worried that he love to walk near the swimming pool.

Vernon's Piggy bank

31-Oct-2008 Friday - Vernon start to pick up the value of money and concept of savings lately.
Whenever he saw we left our coins on the table, he will collect the coins and pull my hand to follow him to the room and pointed to where his piggy bank is and he want to keep or "tong-tong" into his piggy bank.
In fact, the coins is too dirty for kids to hold. As a result, we always have to make sure that we wash his hand after he kept all his coins into the piggy bank.
just like last week when we reached nai nai house late evening to pick him up. The 1st thing Vernon look for will be my handbag. He will open my purse to see any coins left for him to "tong-tong" into his piggy bank. He will very happy if i have some coins left in my purse. He will collect it and put on the floor and start counting coin by coin. So that he can "tong-tong" again. But then kuku grace tried to tease Vernon boy, and gave him RM1. His response to kuku is no RM1, Vernon don't want RM1. He then asked grace to keep the RM1.

This is so call Kids mind..................we all laugh at him. :)

客人來 Song

14-Oct-2008 - Beginning of this month, James & I start planning to teach and play Chinese song to Vernon. We want to prepared him for multi language capability, especially now people are looking at east. We as a Chinese must at least know Chinese as our mother language, this is what I think of.

Well, we bought some Chinese children song books which come together with CD. and I think it works very well for Vernon. After a few play of those songs, he began to pick up a few song. He picked up 客人來 , 三輪車, 大公雞 & 小毛驢 etc.

Words : "Stupid"

The other day when we were shopping@ Island plaza, and Vernon saw other kids running around the shopping place touching the display things @ the kids corner.
our of sudden, he shouted at the 2 girls about age 4 to 5 ........

Vernon : U.....Stupid girl.
Mommy : I almost want to go hide myself and immediately close his mouth.
Vernon : Again, U.....stupid no touch.
Mommy : No.....Vernon they are not stupid. stop saying that words.
as I saw the girls mommy is around there and I was very embarrassed how this boy warn the girl with such words. A minutes later, remind me that he pick up the words from his daddy.................James use to score those people driving too slow or too fast....."stupids." and here he pick up the words.

Same for another incident where we were dining at PSC, Vernon saw the kids in the next table running up & down around the place. He score the kids - "stupid" as well.
We have to correct him as this is not call "stupid" but "naughty".
The kids are just like a blank sheet of paper or copy cat. They will copy whatever good or bad we did. As a parents, we have to be cautions on every words we say and in our daily conversations.

Mommy's boy

4-Oct-2008 - It was a sunny afternoon, we had a shopping trip to Gurney plaza and so as taken our lunch there. We never tried Winter warmers restaurant b4, this is the 1st time we tried and we all love the food with very warm decorations although it's a very small place. The sandwiches and the bakes cheese seafood were so good, one thing we should have tried is the dessert. I saw many peoples going there just for their tea time (some cakes & a cup of coffee)

U know, that day I have to fed Vernon while taken mine lunch at the same time. and this Vernon boy was so understanding and after one feed for him, he will then told me to eat. He want to make sure I also eat my lunch and not wait till he finish his. I always share one portion of food with him, else he will not able to finish and it will be a waste for paying additional plate of food.

Our Conversations..: -
Vernon : mommy eat......eat.

Mommy : OK.

Brithday Party

2-Oct-2008 Thursday - It was Raya holidays, early in the morning I have told Vernon that tonight we are going to attend Ko ko Bryan's birthday party. I told him u have to take your nap so that u can go to the birthday party. Right after we came back from Tesco grocery's trip, the little boy keep telling me, tonight go ko ko's birthday party.

Vernon behave good boy, he took his nap till 6pm. Immediate he woke up we prepared to go to the party. When we reached there, we were just in time to sing the birthday song for the birthday boy. The birthday boy have his favorite cartoon "BEN 10" on his cake, he told everyone cannot cut his cake with the ben 10 on it. Every one laugh at him....................................and really have fun time of eating as most of the food is home cook food and taste so delicious.
When come open present time, all the kids were sitting surround the birthday boy to see what he had for his birthday. He had a big present from his uncle which is the mini fuzzball table.

All kids were so excited & can't wait to play. Once the table set up, all of them find their own place, and get ready to kick the ball. They all have a good time.

Fully potty accomplishment

1-Oct-2008 Wednesday - Vernon's Kakak wati went back to Indonesia to celebrate Raya with her family for 2 weeks and will only be back after 8-Oct. I remembered the 1st day I send Vernon to Nai nai house, as Nai nai now become the full time Vernon's babysitter. The 1st few days Nai Nai is totally not use to the time table of Vernon and she was upside down and busy for whole day just to bath, preparing meals & let Vernon sleep. MIL told me that she had hard time the whole day until she have to had her breakfast @ 11am daily after wati left home.
nai nai was counting down when kakak wati is coming back..........haa...aa : )
the luckiest thing is Vernon is now fully potty train. At least nai nai don't need to worry of big & small business.

Since Kakak Wati left home for Raya, Vernon never wee wee on the bed......this is what I & James observed. 2 weeks right b4 wati went home, it was a raining day. so sometime at night Vernon drink too much water he will wee wee on the bed and Kakak wati is the one that have to do more cleaning work especially the bed sheet & the mattress protector.
From the day kakak wati left home Vernon started able to wait till morning only go to wee wee. But we were so worry that is there any impact to his bladder.
So I & James think of a better way to ease us & help Vernon, we prepare a cup for him beside the bed. We told him, if he want wee wee.......he just told either one of us during night time. He only need to wee wee into the cup, no need to go to toilet.
But so far, Vernon only use it for not more than 3 times.
Because most of the time, Vernon will say..............

Vernon : No Mommy......i want to sleep. no kacau (disturb in Malay).

Hair Cut - No more crying

31-Aug-2008 Sunday - It was a sunny weekend after breakfast we plan to bring Vernon for hair cut. When we arrive at the barber shop, the Indian guy just went out for brunch and his partner dare to cut baby's hair. We had to leave home since no one able to cut Vernon's hair. In the afternoon James want to stay at home to complete his jobs. As a result, I decided to bring Vernon back to the Barber nearby batu lanchang together with Kakak wati again.
Here we go, Vernon was so good boy. Let the Indian guy cut his hair till finish, no tear drops and crying at all. He even able to follow what he instruct him, bend down his head a bit...........
I & kaka wati.........very surprised and this is the 1st time ever he never cry since his few hair cut.

I hope he already get use to and will never cry again. :)

Playing during Potty Time

These 2 weeks When Vernon sitting on his potty chair to do his big business, he starting asking for his animals. and what he did is, he will pull 2 animals together and play along till his finish his big business. I found it very cute and this is what a kids will do during their childhood. so I quickly took my handphone to snapshot.

As I remembered Nai nai told me that James also have the same habit where he will singing and playing with toys while having big business during his childhood.

Vernon is just like inherit from his Daddy........people said "Like father Like son."

Writing skills

We bought a few writing exercise books from popular for Vernon to start learning his writing skills. And I found 123 or numbers is easier for them to pick up compare to alphabets. As I see Vernon use to join the alphabet by linking few lines instead of follow the normal writing sequence.

I decided to start from here, but I do face a problem where Vernon do not want me to hold his hand while writing. He always told me, no mommy.............Vernon write.....................

mommy only can watching and no holding. He very too Independence till we cannot disturb his capability or writing skills.

Moon cake from Kong Kong

1-Sept-2008 Monday- Today is the Malaysia independence day replacement holidays. So we went to Jusco in seberand jaya together with Ah mah, E-e, Joshua & Jolene. When we back in the evening, kong kong also back from Ipoh and Vernon insist want to go into Ah mah house instead of direct headed home. The 1st thing Kong Kong think of Vernon is giving him the 2 piggy moon cake that he brought back from Ipoh.

Vernon happily holding the 2 piggy moon cake and ran to the door, asking me to bring him home.

Dibo the gift dragon

Last 2 weeks, Vernon keep telling me about Dibo bunny...how...and how................
so I just listen to him very patiently till last Friday when we were at nai nai place after work.
I & James sat down and watch this Dibo the gift dragon cartoon together with Vernon. This cartoon really cute and our boy love it so much.

This is Mine

lately Vernon love to use the words --> "THIS IS MINE."
Whatever he have in his hand......fruits,food or books or the TV cartoon he is watching is all belong to him. and he will response to u.......this is mine.

I am not sure where he pick up all this words and we just worried that he had the mind-set of not sharing. why i said this is, i saw an incident...........just a week ago.
-->last week when we were at the Popular book fair in One-Stop. Vernon was standing & watching in front of a TV that promote the story books with the reading pen for kids. Initially he was alone watching and later on there's 2 kids joining in. And Vernon aware that they are watching the TV, he is pushing them away and told them......."this is Mine".
I immediately told him..........no......the TV is share share one.......is not belong to Vernon.
however he still keep telling the other kids, the TV is his one.
Alamak........................I really have no idea how to pull this boy out. this only way is I told him there's more books at the back room, let's go together with Mommy.

Leg Marking

Today We start giving Vernon to write & draw with the erasable marker pen.

Early early morning, Vernon woke up and told me that he wanted to bring along his marker pen and ABC/123 exercise book to Nai nai house today. I just follow his request and bring it along for him. So I left for work for the day.

When we back to Nai nai house in the evening, we found he use the marker pen to draw poker dot on his leg. He told us....................

**Vernon : Mommy mosquito bite Vernon's leg.

the lucky thing is he only mark the dot on his leg, not the other part of his body.

Sustagen 100% Nutritionland

9-Aug-2008 - Saturday we were shopping @ Queensbay Mall in the evening, when we came across the centre of the mall. MeadJohson was having promotion of the Sustagen 100% nutrition land activity for kids. We went to the main entrance of the activity land and the lady from Meadjohnson seeing Vernon is too small to qualify for the activities. as a result, she did not recommend us, except allow us to watch & tasting of the products.

However, when we walked closer to the 1st look & match game which Vernon already trained and expert now. We tried to avoid him from disturbing the rest to play the game, but he keep walking towards the stairs to walk up to participate. what we did is bring him away, he finally cried as loud as he can till the lady came over and asked why???

I told the lady that he want to participate in the games, end up the lady gave us the activity point cumulative score card. without this score card, the kids are not allow to participate.

When Vernon saw me holding the card, he knew he can participate and very happy queuing up to wait for his turn for the games.

Here his turn, and he really able to take over the items and stick to the right place.

exp...bread, rice bowl and mee mee.................he stick to the right position till some of the parents waiting there also praise his capabilities.

: - 2nd game - picking the vege from the tunnels. Vernon happily craw thru the tunnels, picking the vege pretty fast and put into his basket.

3rd game - Picking fished from the pin balls pool

4th game - look and found the right body parts

5th game - spin & guess where u spin what is the game that u will need to play.

Vernon got the sound game. Vernon able to differentiate the sound of Drum and cymbals. and within a minutes time he said to the guy that the sound is come from drum.

Upon complete all the 5 games, Vernon will entitle to get the free gift of swimming floating set.

It's pretty fun and Vernon also enjoy very much during the games.

Fully Self Potty

9-Aug-2008 Saturday - Starting this week 32, Vernon able to take off his pants and go to toilet by his own. according to Kakak Wati, he actually started this about a week already especially in Nai Nai house.
Nowadays,he always stand outside the shower box & wee wee or he will pull the small stools that we put next to the sink to stand up to reach the toilet bowl.

**Remembered on this Tuesday night 5-Aug, b4 bed Vernon told me that he want "put-put". So I accompanied him out from our bed- room. and he kept pushing me away and told me :

Vernon : Mommy go watching TV together with Papa.
Mommy : Are u sure u able to potty by your own?
Vernon : Mommy ......"no"..................Vernon go potty.

As a result, James & I hiding behind the cupboard next to the toilet & watching what he did?
Vernon went to pull out his potty chair and sit down by his own. as usual, he love to singing while potty. after finished, he called me in to wash his backside.

His is .........independence on potty and pretty much on learning things as well.
He make me feel like his is mommy's big boy now. and no longer a baby.............
however, in my heart......he is still a baby to me......haa.aaaaa
