Dinner @ Gurney Manhattan Fish Market

AUg 2009 - Most of weekend we will bring Vernon went shopping & dine out since I am on long leave. Usually we will having dinner first b4 bring him to Toys'R Us and bookstore. These are the 2 place he lookign forward to.

When we reache Gurney, we undecided what for dinner. So I and James look around the restaurant and their menu to see which one best for Vernon and me. While we were looking at the menu at the Manhattan Fish Market. Vernon pick the Balloon from the tray, I told papa looks like we have to go in now.

Well, The waiter also headach to find a place for us as we have a stroller. finally they found a good place just right behind the bar.

This is what I ordered for the day, it have 2 prawns, fish, rice & Chips...............very nice and worth to eat.

Gerald @ 2 month + 3 wks old

Very fast..............Gerald Boy is now 2 months + 3 wks old.
Gerald's weight during the 9th Aug Visit to Dr. Sim Clinic :
Weight : 6kg

I have about a week & will back to work on 24-Aug. I really wish I can with both my boys Gerald & Vernon at home longer. I have been bringing Vernon to School everyday since Jul which is about 2 months. I sure will miss all these mother & son happy time. same with my little Gerald boy whom I have with at home together since he was born (almost 3 month liao)
This week, i found Gerald boy a bit fussy. May be he can sense mommy is going back to work very soon. Start last week I tried to pump out my milk to let kakak to feed him in the morning & afternoon time. He sometimes hungry while still want to sleep and cry non stop so I told Kakak to put him down on the bouncing chair. and feed him. hope Nai Nai & kakak wati able to take care of him well next week when I am at work.
James & I start seeing jealous on Vernon. He will not let his De-de to sleep on his baby pillow, whenever he saw that he will pull away not matter his de-de is still sleeping or not.
and he will make noises purposely wake his de-de up especially you mention and asked him to keep voice low.

Vernon's Handwriting & Coloring

Vernon's Coloring got improvement since he went to nursery.
Before I started my maternity leave I did print out some to prepare for him to color at home.
I want to thanks to Chin Ern's Mother whom provide me all this idea.



These are Vernon's handwriting at home. After came back from nursery daily, except from watching cartoon. He will ask us to gave him some paper and then he will write ABC/123. Other than all this activity he did at home, he also love to read books and watch the word world.
So on & off he will ask us how to spell certain words.
Now, He already able to spell 3 simple letter words like DOG, CAT,Water, Yo-Yo, Drum, Rocket............


The other day I went to Parkson and saw this Japan water pen with the writing mat.....pretty good for the kids to write, draw and it can dry with using any eraser. So that I can save some paper..........but Vernon still not use to as he can't wait till it dry.

19-Jul-2009 - This year end Vernon is going to perform in his school concert and he has been singing this song and dancing since last week. I did not know the exact lyrics of the song nor the dance so I look into internet to see any chance to get the right song + dance. Finally I get it :

3rd prize on family photo contest

15-Jul-2009 - Today afternoon while I am having my rest while looking after Gerald boy in the living room. Suddenly someone ring our house bell, when I open the door.....I saw a courier man sending me a box of goodies. Guess what !! This is the 3rd prize that we got for our family photo contest on the " 媽媽 寶寶" <> on June issue. The goodies worth RM100.

In fact, this come very surprise when we hear the news from Photo me back last month. The photographer call us and told us that your family photo that he submitted on behalf got 3rd prize. He told us to get the magazine from him and claim the prize upon getting the notifications from Pureen company.

Inside the box (prize) : a pack of disposable diaper from Pureen, 2 toothpaste for kids, 2 showing gel, 1 lotion, a pack of wet tissues and 2 Pureen powder.

Gerald development @ 1 mth + 1 wks

9-Jul-2009 Thursday - Today we brought Gerald boy for 2nd month checkup & Jab "Hepatitis B" @ Dr. Sim's clinic. I like Dr. Sim clinic as he have a breastfeeding room for breastfeed mother. It is very convenient unlike GMC, where it only have one breastfeeding room, so every time I have to run to 5th floor nursing room to nurse Gerald when we were there for the 1st checkup.

Gerald's development :
* Able to lift head when you put him on your shoulder since 3rd weeks after born.
* Able to cooing to see if anyone will hold him.
* Able to move head from side to side and follow if we walk from one side to another
* Love to smile & "gugu" at people.
* Make a different sound of crying for diaper change/clean and off course for milk.
* Able to roll a bit side way and sometime he able to change the sleep position from vertical to horizontal. I really no idea how this boy able to do so in his baby cord.

Weight : 4.9kg (as per 9 of Jul)
OFC : 38.5cm

Vernon's drawing

A few weeks back during my confinement, 2-E po called up to ask us to go to her house to pick up a drawing that Vernon did during early June when Nai Nai brought him there. 2-E po told us you all must take a look at how well this boy able draw his tiger.
He able to draw 4 legs with some hairy on the body of the animal. I really proud and happy that he able to draw so well. and we decided to keep this copy...........................................

Mother's Day

This year we celebrate mother's day with Nai Nai & ah mah on the same day due to the busy schedule both of them. One have dinner, while another have singing competition.

For Ah mah, we went to Park royal Hotel penang for buffer lunch, off course together with Kong Kong. I told James I want to go for a buffer lunch b4 I deliver............haa....aaa.

Vernon can eat a lots while the crown came to gave him the balloon. He stared at the Crown so long as he never get so close to a clown, normally he just Q up and get the balloon. This time the crown not only gave him balloon but also talk to him.

At Night, we celebrate with Nai Nai at Seoul Garden Gurney. Initially they want to eat Thai Food but due to I can't take hot & Spicy food. Kuku decided change the venue to Korea food.

But I knew Nai Nai, Chor Chor & 2-E did not really enjoy Korea food. They don't like the food and taste at all. For me, I enjoy very much as I love BBQ & Korea food.

We also let Vernon to take Korea Food since he already 3 yrs old now. Shouldn't bring home cook food out anymore.

The day Baby Gerald born

29-May-2009 Friday - My Gerald boy born on the exact due date.
Most relatives said he look more like mommy, where i also have the same say......where have lots of hair and round face.

The nursery nurse in GMC hospital all name my baby Gerald number one in terms of high pitch when he is hungry and look for mommy's milk.
So sometime before the nurse come to call me for nursing in the middle of the night. I already can hear him from my room. and I always have to get prepared and walk faster to the nursing room. else his speaker will get louder and louder.
He nurse very well on the day he was born and can easily take from my breast or bottle.

On the 3rd day, his jaudice gone up to level 12, so I decided to stay with him in the hospital for another day before discharge. We went home on the 5th day, however the jaudice level did not get better though we did put him under the morning sun light.
On the 1st checkup, Dr. cheah asked for blood test to determine the jaudice level and it was level 14. which is too high for baby just 1 weeks old. As a result, Gerald have to admit, so I have to follow him as well since I still do not have breastmilk stock to feed him around the clock.
After 2 days, his level went down to 10.4, we finally discharge

1st dining out after confinement

5-Jul-2009 Sunday - it's been a month we did not dine out and did not bring Vernon out too.
we decided to have dinner in PSC since it's been some time we did not go there and use the facility. Vernon thought that he is going to go swimming and have dinner. I told him we only go there for dinner not swimming....luckily he agreed. :)
I knew still owed Vernon which i promised to bring him to swimming in PSC after i delivered baby de-de. However due to the recent H1N1 cases happened, i tried not to bring him to swimming at the moment.
we reserved a corner table, very comfortable for breastfeed.

we use 2 chairs to put the bassinet. and this is the 1st time i breastfeed Gerald boy in restaurant. He is kind of cooperative and enjoyed too.

After Vernon finished his dinner, i told James that Vernon might want to have some Ice-cream.

so we called the waiter and asked Vernon boy :

mommy: What favourite u want for your ice-cream
Vernon : without hesitation he told the waiter he want chocolate favourite.

The Club's new wing lobby just complete, so we go to 6th floor to have a look & took some pic.

Vernon boy have so many expression till James have to try a couple times only able to take a pic of 3 of us.

Gift from Baby Di-di

25-June-2009 Thursday - James forgot to let Vernon open the gift from Gerald Di-di.
though Vernon already received it on the night Gerald was born on 29-May. You can tell from Vernon expression, he love the present although it is just a small gift.
When he opened up and saw it is a word matching games which we bought during our s'pore trip. He immediately want James to help open up and teach him how to play.

Vernon is showing the matching games where it comes with cone for u to match the word and the pictures.

20-June-2009 Saturday - today Vernon boy is going out with James to attend chor chor's birthday without mommy & Di-di in a Thai food restaurant in burmah road.

I am still on confinement, for a month Chinese are not allow to go out from house except going for check up in hospital.
Since Vernon dress up so nice. i take the opportunity to take a pic of the 2 brothers.

It was so hard to ask Vernon to hold his Di-di's hand.

I can said Vernon already use to alone, so even our family add in small di-di. He also play & watch TV by his own without interference mommy & D-di.

New Addition to Chuah Family

29-May-2009 Friday - As usual I drove to work on Thursday morning, my boss seeing me walking very difficult in that morning and advice me to finish setup out of office and went home as early as possible. However, I insist to stay till 4pm only left the office.

That night when I went home, everything still like normal till I went to my mom's place for dinner. I felt a little bit of contraction every half an hour, my parents asked James to went home to bring my bag while I stay at their place monitoring. and we told Nai Nai to took care of Vernon that night. till 11pm, the contraction seems still happen half an hour only. So I decided to go home for a good sleep.

at 2pm I woke up and the contraction start to take place every 10 min and followed by every 8min. I told James, have to be prepared as I have a feeling that my baby is coming out tomorrow morning. About 4:30am I can't get back to sleep and felt the contractions is getting closer every 6min. So I woke up and took a bath and get ready, then woke papa up.

James drove me to GMC hospital in the early morning of 5:30am. I was sent to Maternity ward and monitoring baby's heartbeat and my dilation just about 3 cm only. Not long, the nurse brought me to the labor room. About 11am I start pushing, and baby Gerald finally came outside of mommy's womb @ 11:35am.

The most wonderful gift received on Mother's Day

8-May-2009 Friday - Tonight after dinner we went to Nai Nai house to fetch Vernon. Upon arrived at Nai Nai house, I saw Vernon jumping up & down in the living room with something holding on his hand.

The 1st thing he saw me, he come towards me and said to me "Happy Mother's day." then he hand over a mini picture frame with a lovely mother's day card that he did in his nursery in that morning.

I was so happy, and showed it to James. But James said you thought this is done by your son meh. I told him, it doesn't matter whether is fully did by him or not. So long he have put afford and involvement to create and design it. as a Mother, I am very Happy already.

1st Day @ my nursery "Little Light House"

4-May-2009 Monday - 1st Monday of May FY09 mark Vernon Boy 1st day at Nursery "Little Light House."

James & I took a day off to ensure Vernon is doing fine during his 1st day @ the nursery.

As usual, 8am in the Monday morning Vernon still in his sweet dream. In order not to delay to school, kakak wati gave him his milk milk and he finished a bottle of milk after I finished taken my bath.

and I told kakak wati cook a bowl of oat meal and fed him. Vernon still relax and enjoying his breakfast slowly. It was almost 9am in the morning, James called up again to asked where are we. I need to dropped by Nai Nai house to pick up Nai Nai & papa due to starting the next day, Nai Nai will be the one that pick up & drop Vernon to Nursery. The teacher want to know who will be the one else they will not let go of the kids. This is to avoid kidnapping of Kids from Nursery.

The teacher waiting outside, come towards our car and hold Vernon, then go into the Nursery Lobby.

The moment he walked into the Nursery, the teacher told Ashley that your cousin "Vernon" is here as both of them will be in N1 (Nursery1) class. see what a cute post by both of them.

Vernon then walk towards toys rack and stating pulling the toys b4 the class start & while we were talking to the teacher. The teacher/headmaster told us that looks like Vernon will be doing fine as seems no sign of uncomfortable. He then follow the group Q up and walk towards their class.

**Today Vernon need to wear his home clothes as we just get his uniform today which come in sky blue & white.

My Family Photos

Apr 2009 - Papa love to have a family pictures taken during each of mommy's pregnancy. He told me that when all the kids grew up, we can show them how mommy's look like when they are in mommy's tummy. This time, the photographer uncle gave a special offer of the package we get as he took additional photos of Vernon and some free reprint.

Shopping Day

30-Apr-2009 Friday - It was a crazy Sales at Jusco Penang & Work book day.

James & I left work early and fetch Vernon early from Nai Nai place so that we can went to the Sales at Jusco & Borders book store.
On our way to Queens bay, the traffic were so bad as you can see those car were Q up till in front of Tesco & e-gate. The lucky things is, the left lane to Bayan Lepas was not block. So we sneak out from the bad traffic by using the lane. and we reached Queensbay pretty early at 7pm.

We first thought of having our lunch at Kim Gary, unfortunately there'll so many people still Q up for the table. As a result, we change our dinner place to Old Town.

We ordered rice & noodles + the special brown bread with butter. However, Vernon boy love so much my lime juice. He can finish half cup of it and left another half for me.

James said I always encourage Vernon eating or drinking something not healthy.

I just smile back and did what I want for my boy. So that he can get use to the outside food.

Virus Infections

26-Apr-2009 - It was a Sunday morning we went grocery in Tesco. And James met a old high school friend and they had chit chat while I am still doing my shopping at the "non-Halal" food.
When I met up with them, out of sudden the friend's daughter vomit. We didn't know that his daughter was sick and Vernon was sitting on the shopping cart which is very near to the friend's daughter.

The night we went home, Vernon start had a high fever and the night mare start..............................

The next day he start vomiting and had a heavy diarrhea non stop. I brought him to see Dr. Sim the 1st thing in the morning. The moment Dr. Sim saw Vernon sad face, he knew something not right with him. So I told him about meeting the friend's daughter in Tesco, as Dr. Sim already suspect someone had the virus and spread over to Vernon.
Dr. Sim gave Vernon an injection to stop vomit but the diarrhea will continue for the next few days. and Dr. Sim also use the ultrasound to scan and see Vernon's tummy, the scan seems okay at Vernon tummy.
Then we went home, I was so upset seeing him suffering and Vernon keep telling me:

Vernon : Mommy.........my tummy pain pain.

I took about a week off from work and took care of him every minutes of the whole night till he recovered for the following a week. and we paid a few visit back to Dr. Sim's clinic as Vernon kept telling he is not well and had stomach pain every-night.
After Dr. Sim prescribe more medicine to him to stop Vernon's tummy pain.

Sharing Coconut drink with Mommy

25-Apr-2009 Saturday - Left Dr. Gan clinic and it was late noon, we decided to have our lunch at New World park since it was too late to cook.
Papa park his car and we get down and walked towards the food court. We then find a table and sited in the center of the new world park food court and then ordered our food. I ordered Teriyaki Eel set (Japanese food) & share with Vernon as I knew he won't be able to finish by his own. and off course ordered my favorite coconut drink.
Lately I love to drink lots of coconut as my body is getting warm and it help me to relieve from the warm weather. One thing you won't believe is that,Vernon is also a coconut drink lover too, he sometimes can finish half of a big coconut. so if I bought the "pandan" favour coconut (smaller in size) I have to ordered 2, else he will just finished it himself.

Papa ordered a plate of Penang favorite Dessert "ROJAK" (a types of mix fruits with prawn gravy) after done his lunch. Vernon asking James what is that? we told him this very hot & spicy else Vernon will not so easy to let go and will continue ask.

Many many Q.......from this Boy and he will not easily let go if he found not satisfy with the answer.
